At a recent CICA Tax Conference, a business acquaintance and I heard from several tax partners and senior tax practitioners in industry as to how difficult it is to recruit talent in the current marketplace. Though the reasons varied, one common theme emerged; it would be a value added service if a search firm were to focus on tax searches, and had recruiters who were tax professionals with tax knowledge and diverse contacts among tax professionals. As tax is a complex area with many disciplines, we thought that a specialized tax search firm would effectively service searches for tax and tax related job opportunities. Consequently, a specialized tax search firm would better understand what an employer is looking for in an individual for a tax position, and what an employee would like to accomplish from a career perspective.

So here we are, ready to provide an alternative to the traditional search firm in that we specialize in tax searches. We understand tax and are translating that knowledge into performing efficient and effective tax searches for employers, which will benefit both employer and employee in that we can understand the needs of both parties.

In terms of my experience, I am a CA and a CFA Charterholder. I have completed all three levels of the CICA In-Depth Tax Course. I began my career in Corporate Tax in 1996 at what was then one of the Big 6 Public Accounting Firms. My how things have changed in a decade. Over the years, I have worked in both Public Accounting and Industry in various roles within Tax. My experience includes Mergers & Acquisition Tax, International Tax, Financial Institutions, Corporate Compliance Tax, R&D, Trust Taxation, Commodity Tax, and Personal Inpatriate and Expatriate Taxation, as well as Corporate Finance and Valuations.
